Such fun, and a beautiful old door!

I love this picture and enjoyed painting it so much. I also enjoyed using some of the techniques I have learned from Nicola's earlier classes in a real painting environment, i.e., dropping salt on the wet paint, using resist, and, yes, I even liked grating the watercolor pencil over wet paint. One question: It seemed to me that you were using burnt sienna on the door at first, but in later stages I understood you to say Raw Umber for the door. I may be mistaken as I don't put my hearing aids on when I paint! A lovely, lovely class with a beautiful outcome.

A bit more about me.

I originally trained as a graphic artist and then followed a different career path working in the media, travel and public relations.

After time working in these areas spent in both London and Paris, I moved into interior design, specialist painting effects and creating murals for clients in both the UK and overseas.

Now living in the south of France I continue with all of that but now also teach people how to paint in watercolours on painting holidays. teaching via the internet, film making and helping people with their marketing and promotional activities.
